:: Waimea, Hawaii ::
Early morning sounds of rooster calls and horse hooves tromping through the pasture behind our bedroom window. Clouds covering the blue skies coating the lush green landscape with dew. Tight burnt skins cover our Portland bodies after a day soaking on the beach. “Living on the Parker Ranch”.
Holo Holo Ku is a small enclave of cottages and ranch homes situated on 10.5 acres surrounded by the famous Parker Ranch. Waimea is unlike any other place on Hawaii island. Known as paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) country the historic area is full of rolling, green pastures is still home to cattle, cowboys and ranches. Stop signs read “whoa”, instead of “stop” and the home of Kahua Ranch, a working sheep and cattle ranch.
Days have been full of lazy beach days and one tough hike up Waipio Valley. Appreciating our close friendship of 20+ years with Leann and Chris and our next adventure in Maui to witness two amazing humans marry beachside tomorrow afternoon. Delite!
